How AutoShowList works

Everything the platform does for event organizers, vendors, car clubs and show-goers — with the real numbers, in one place.

Getting started

What AutoShowList is, and the shortest path to what you came for.

What is AutoShowList?
AutoShowList is a national directory and toolset for the car show world. Enthusiasts use it to find shows, cruise-ins and meets near them. Organizers use it to publish an event, take entry-fee payments, and get in front of people already searching for shows in their area. Vendors and car clubs use it to be found by both.
Do I need an account to use the site?
No. Browsing events, the map, location and category pages, vendor profiles, club pages and the Garage are all open to everyone with no sign-in. You only need a free account to post an event, RSVP, save a search, list a vendor business, run a club, or add a vehicle to your Garage.
Does it cost anything?
Browsing is free and always will be. Posting a basic event listing is free too. Paid options exist for organizers who want more visibility, for vendors who want a directory presence, and for clubs that outgrow the free limits - every one of them is listed on the Pricing page with the real number next to it.
How do I find shows near me?
Three ways. Use the Map to search a city, state or zip code and filter by radius. Browse the Events page and filter by date, vehicle type, event format and audience. Or jump straight to Car Shows This Weekend for what is happening in the next few days. There are also dedicated pages for every state, major metro area and category.
How current are the listings?
Listings come from organizers who post directly, and from our own ingestion pipeline that pulls and reviews new shows automatically several times a day. Every imported listing is reviewed before it goes live, duplicates are detected and merged, and past events move to a separate archive rather than cluttering search.

For event organizers

Publishing a show, selling entry, and getting it in front of the right people.

How do I post my car show?
Go to Post Event, create a free account if you do not have one, and pick a listing tier. You then fill in the details - date and time, venue and address, categories, entry fee, description - and upload your flyer. The listing is saved before any payment step, so if you change your mind at checkout your event is still there waiting in your dashboard.
What do the listing tiers cost, and what is the difference?
A Free listing gets your show into the directory, the map, and the relevant state, metro and category pages. Standard is $14 and Featured is $29, both one-time per event. Paid tiers buy placement: higher ranking in search and category results, stronger presentation on the site, and eligibility for a spotlight card in the Friday email digest. You can also upgrade a listing later from your dashboard without reposting it.
Can I sell tickets or collect entry fees through the site?
Yes, for events where you turn it on. Paid registration runs through Stripe Connect: you connect your own Stripe account, you are the merchant of record, and Stripe pays out to you directly on your own schedule. AutoShowList's cut is a 5% service fee added on top at checkout and paid by the registrant, which means you net your full posted entry fee rather than having a commission carved out of it. Stripe's own per-transaction processing cost still applies, as it does with any card payment anywhere.
When do I get paid for registrations?
Directly from Stripe, on your account's normal payout schedule - the money never sits with us. Because the charge is created on your connected account rather than ours, you keep the customer relationship, the payout timing and the refund controls, and everything shows up in your own Stripe dashboard.
Someone already listed my show. How do I take it over?
Use the Claim This Event button on the listing. That opens a claim request with an optional message, which a person on our side reviews before anything moves. Claiming is deliberately not instant and not automatic. Once approved, ownership transfers to your account and you can edit, cancel and manage the listing yourself.
What happens to my listing tier when I claim an event?
On approval the listing moves to your account on the free tier, and you can pay to restore a paid tier from your billing page if you want the extra placement. If you already hold an active Season Pass or Power Package subscription, you keep the paid tier at no extra charge.
I run several shows a year. Is there a better deal than paying per event?
Two. Season Pass is $199 a year and is aimed at organizers running a full calendar of events. Power Package is $39 a month for organizers who want ongoing promotion rather than a per-event spend. Both are on the Pricing page, and both carry your paid tier through event claims.
What do I get on the event page itself?
Your flyer, full date and venue details with a map and directions, an add-to-calendar button, share buttons including SMS and WhatsApp, an RSVP list, a live weather forecast for the event date, an automatically generated FAQ block answering the questions people actually ask about a show, and an embed code so you can drop the listing straight onto your own website or club page.
Will my show actually show up on Google?
That is the point of the whole site. Every event page emits full structured data - Event, image, FAQ and breadcrumb markup - which is what makes rich results possible for car show searches. Event times are published in the venue's real local timezone rather than server time. Every listing is added to the sitemap automatically, and your show also appears on the state, metro and category pages that rank for the searches people actually type.
What if my show is cancelled or rained out?
Mark it from your dashboard. The listing keeps its page and its URL rather than vanishing, and shows a clear cancellation status - which matters, because people who already had it in their calendar will come back to that same page looking for exactly that answer.
Can I run judging and People's Choice voting?
Yes, on events where you enable it. The site supports show classes, entries, ballots and People's Choice voting, so attendees can vote from their phones instead of you counting paper slips.
Can I see how my listing is performing?
Your dashboard has an analytics view with view counts and engagement for the events you own, so you can tell whether a paid tier or a promotion actually moved anything rather than guessing.

For vendors & sponsors

Getting your business in front of organizers and show-goers.

What does a vendor listing get me?
A public profile in the vendor directory with your services, service area, contact details, photos and links - plus customer reviews and a record of the shows you appear at. Organizers looking to fill vendor spots browse this directory, and enthusiasts use it to find detailers, upholstery shops, parts suppliers, photographers and food vendors near them.
How much does it cost to be listed?
Founding Vendor is $59 a year. Register through the vendor sign-up page and your profile goes live once approved.
Can I promote myself at a specific show?
Yes. Vendor Boost is $15 per event and pushes your business in front of the people looking at that particular show, which is more useful than generic exposure when you only work a handful of events a year.
What about bigger sponsorship placement?
Featured Partner ad spots run on the vendor directory at $39 a month. Those are arranged by conversation rather than self-serve checkout - use the contact page and we will work out the placement. There is also a media kit with audience and reach details if you need something to take to a marketing budget.
My business is already in the directory. Can I take control of the profile?
Yes. Vendor profiles can be claimed, and like event claims the request is reviewed by a person before ownership moves. Once approved you can edit your own profile, respond to reviews and manage your appearances.

For car clubs

Running the club, not just listing it.

What does a club page do?
It gives your club a public home on the site with your story, photos, links and upcoming events, and it gives members a way to find and join you. Joining is approval-gated, so you decide who is actually in the club rather than getting whoever clicks a button.
Can it handle dues?
Yes. The club dashboard tracks who has paid and who has not, and sends dues reminder emails so you are not the person chasing twenty people by text every year.
Can we run members-only events?
Yes. Club events can be public or members-only, each with its own RSVP list, so a members-only tech day and a public cruise-in can live side by side under the same club.
Is there a free tier for clubs?
Yes. A free club supports up to 15 members and 2 upcoming events at a time, which covers a lot of smaller clubs completely. Club Pro is $19 a month and lifts those limits.

For car owners & show-goers

Finding shows, planning the drive, and showing off the car.

Can I get told about new shows instead of checking back?
Yes. Save a search - a location, a radius, a category - and get emailed when something new matches it. There is also a free weekly digest that goes out on Fridays with what is coming up. Both are double opt-in and every email has a working one-click unsubscribe.
Can I plan a route between several shows?
That is what the route planner on the map is for. Add shows to a trip, and it calculates real driving distance and drive time between the stops and draws the route, so a weekend of three shows two hours apart is something you can sanity-check before committing to it.
What is the Garage?
A public profile for your car. Add photos, the build story, categorized modifications and owner or builder credit, and you get a shareable page - with a QR code you can print for your windshield card, so people who walk past the car at a show can look up the full build instead of asking you the same five questions all day.
Is there anything for charity shows?
Yes. Shows benefiting a cause get their own hub, so a benefit show is findable as a benefit show rather than being buried among everything else.

Billing, accounts & policies

The practical answers.

What payment methods do you take?
All payments run through Stripe, which accepts major credit and debit cards and the wallet options Stripe supports. Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and never touch our servers.
How do refunds work?
Listing and subscription purchases are covered by the refund policy page. Event entry fees are different: those charges live on the organizer's own Stripe account, so refunds for a show are handled by that organizer under whatever terms they set for their event.
How do I cancel a subscription?
From the billing section of your dashboard. Subscriptions run until the end of the period you have already paid for rather than being cut off the moment you cancel.
I have a question that is not answered here.
Use the contact page and a real person will answer. If you are an organizer, vendor or club weighing a paid option and want to talk it through before spending anything, that is a perfectly good reason to get in touch.

Still have a question?

A real person answers the contact form. If you are weighing a paid option and want to talk it through first, that is a good reason to get in touch.
